Davis Broadcasting kicks off Family Day Music Festival

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus Civic Center parking lot was transformed into a drive-in movie Friday night as Davis Broadcasting and Amerigroup joined forces for the family-centered event.

A big crowd turned out for the free event featuring the movie “Annie,” starring Jamie Foxx. There was also free ice skating and concessions for people to enjoy.

"Amerigroup as well David Broadcasting and the Columbus Civic Center is big on giving back to the community," said Lauren Chambers with Amerigroup. "This is an event where we want the families to come out, feel like they're having a great time in a safe environment, so we're having fun under the sun while we wait for the sun to drop so we can watch a great movie."

The big 29th Annual Family Day Music Festival will be held Saturday, June 6 starting at 2 p.m. It will also be held at the Civic Center Courtyard.

Several artists are scheduled to perform, including George Tandy Jr. There will also be a car and bike show.
