(WTVM) - Some educators took to the Chattahoochee River on Thursday as part of the "Educators on the River" project.
Teachers from both sides of the river joined in on the event, learning how to implement the river in their lessons.
Some educators actually had a chance to go whitewater rafting and zip lining.
"We have access to the river and all that it had to offer for our students and our educators," explained Tamara Garner, MCSD Content Specialist for Science. "And we want our teachers to know ways they can implement that into their science curriculum so that they can give students that hands-on learning activities they can do on the river since we have that here for us."
Science teachers from Alabama and Georgia both participated in the day's event at no cost to the Districts.
