O'Charley's hosts ceremony for Hometown Heroes

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A local restaurant honored veterans Monday night. Henry Harper cut the ribbon during a ceremony at O'Charley's for Hometown Heroes.

The event recognized Mr. Harper along with Eric Doughtey for their service during WWII.

They both received a complimentary dinner at O'Charley's. The restaurant was recently renovated.

Those who attended also got the chance to sign their name to a sign thanking the heroes.

General manager Rueben Gentry says it's pleasure to serve these veterans.

"There is a very veteran invested society here and we love to take care of them, they put a lot into us," Gentry said.

Singer Catherine Childress sang the National Anthem following the ceremony. More than 100 people have been honored during the Hometown Hero Program.
