COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus dance instructor and studio owner has been named Georgia's Woman of the Year for 2015.
Carrie Paris, owner of Performance Dance Center, recently received the award and was selected from among performance artists and instructors across the state of Georgia.
She was nominated by one of her dance instructors who happens to be Mrs. Georgia America.
"It was a big surprise to me, I've never received something this big before, so truly it was a great surprise and honor," Parris said.
The award from the State of Georgia and the Mrs. Georgia America Organization is given each year to professionals in the arts who inspire and motivate their students in a special way.
