OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) - An Opelika man has been arrested on an attempted murder warrant stemming from a May 27 shooting that left another man wounded.

According to an Opelika Police Department press release, Octavius Charles Bryant, 36, of Opelika, was arrested on June 9 shortly after 2 p.m. on the 400 block of North Dean Road in Auburn.

Police say the arrest stems to Bryant's connection to a May 27 shooting that left a 46-year-old Opelika man injured. The man was shot in the 800 block of Donald Avenue in Opelika, and the victim identified Bryant as the shooter.

The United States Marshall's Service and the Auburn Police Department assisted in the capture of Bryant, who was subsequently booked into the Lee County Jail, where he remains pending bond.
