Police, family of man missing for 3 months reach out to public to help find him

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The family of a Columbus man missing for nearly three months is reaching out to the public again in hopes of finding him. 

Joel Akridge, 53, was last seen on Saturday, March 28 in the area of Buena Vista Road in Columbus.  His family says Akridge is mentally impaired and has a heart condition. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a t-shirt, blue shoes and a straw hat.  

Akridge's family, along with the Columbus police department and residents in the community, have searched the area where he was last seen several times with no sign of him.  They have also placed flyers with his picture at numerous locations around town.  

Akridge is described as being 5'11" and weighing 210 pounds.  If you know anything about where he may be,  you are asked to call the Columbus Police Department Special Victims Unit at (706) 653-3449 or (706) 653-3400.
