Columbus man arrested for starting violent crime spree

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The brother of a recently convicted murderer was arrested earlier this week in crimes related to a violent crime spree.

Muscogee County Sheriff's Office in partnership with the United States Marshal's Service and Georgia Department of Corrections Probation officers arrested 27-year-old Terence Earl Biggers.

Biggers was arrested at Elizabeth Canty Apartments in Columbus on Wednesday, June 24.

He was arrested on warrants related to these crimes started on June 22, 2015 in Macon, GA and continued into Thomaston, GA.

Biggers was arrested for:

  • Armed robbery
  • Kidnapping
  • Motor vehicle hijacking
  • Criminal attempt armed robbery
  • Criminal attempt aggravated assault
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

Biggers is the brother of Michael Johnson who was recently convicted of murdering the Columbus jeweler Steve Toms.
