AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - On Thursday, June 25, the Auburn Police Division arrested two 17-year-old male juveniles from Auburn on felony warrants.
Both males were charged with two counts of robbery in the first-degree.
Around 11 p.m. the Auburn Police responded to a call of a robbery in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at the 100 block of E. University Drive. Responding officers were given the description of two black males, and one armed with a hand gun approached two residents in the parking lot and robbed them.
Both suspects fled the area after taking a cell phone and purse that was valued at $500.
Within minutes of receiving the call, an officer observed two individuals matching the suspect descriptions traveling in a vehicle within the area.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and identified the occupants as being the individuals responsible for the robbery, and they were taken into custody.
The cell phone taken in the robbery was recovered by police near the location of the traffic stop. Officers also recovered items in the vehicle that connected the teens to the robbery. They were subsequently arrested and each charged with two counts of robbery in the first-degree.
Both juveniles were charged as adults and transported to the Lee County Jail, where they will be eligible for a $2,000 bond.
