COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - On June 26 at approximately 8:31 p.m., Columbus Police Department Patrol units were dispatched to the Walgreen's at 4808 Buena Vista Road in reference to a shooting.
Upon their arrival they discovered Trenton Lamar Hill, 21, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Hill was transported to the Midtown Medical Center ER, where he died of his injuries.
CPD robbery/assault units also responded to the scene to assume the investigation, where the investigation revealed that Hill was at 746 Andrea Drive when he was shot.
The investigation led to the arrest of Jarrett Marshall, 19, of Columbus, and charged him with involuntary manslaughter. Marshall turned himself in at the Public Safety Building without incident on Sunday.
His preliminary Recorder's Court hearing is set for Wednesday July 1 at 9 a.m. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says the body will be sent to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy on Monday.
