LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) - A cold case murder investigation from 2003 is being reevaluated by the LaGrange Police Department, based on the possibility of new information, according to an LPD press release.

On April 15, 2003, members of the City of LaGrange Police Department responded to a location within the 600 block of Ridley Avenue in reference to a subject that had been shot and subsequently died of his wounds.

The investigation revealed that the victim, William Kent Adams, of Arcadia, MO, was in the LaGrange area working with a contractor from Kansas City, MO.

During the initial investigation, numerous tips were received by LPD, however, a suspect in the case was never developed and no arrest was ever made.

LPD is currently completing a review of this cold case and have found that it would appear, based upon the specific circumstances of this murder, that someone in the general public would have specific information that could lead to the arrest of an offender in this case.

Police are now making a plea for assistance from members of the public for information that would bring resolution to this case.

Members of the public who wish to provide information may do so anonymously to Troup County CrimeStoppers at (706)-812-1000. Tips may also be submitted to the LaGrange Police Department on Facebook.

If you wish to provide any specific information related to this case, please contact Sergeant William Nelson (706)-883-2688.
