AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - Auburn University will soon be able to boast about the largest video board in college football.
The $13.9 million video board is almost complete. The LED display stretches 190-feet wide, and stands 57-feet tall. This makes the screen 435 percent larger than the old screen.
The cost for the new audio system and electronic ribbons will be paid for by Auburn Athletics.
The high-tech audio update will create a crystal clear, surround sound experience for fans.
"We are going to do more replays, more in game features more stats, but at the same time don't want to overwhelm fans, we want to keep it as clean as possible," Andrew Young said with Auburn's audio and video department.
On game day, a 40-person crew will operate the intricate system, and just like the Auburn football players, they are practicing hard for the first home game.
