Beallwood receives community-based murals

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – NeighborWorks Columbus announced that facilities in Beallwood will get a facelift with community based murals.

This initiative will place public art on the restrooms at Charlie Hill Park and the Beallwood Area Neighborhood Development Community Center.

Both murals were designed by artist Brent Alexander, and they will be produced during the week of July 13. This project was developed in cooperation with TEAMeffort, B.A.N.D. and Columbus Parks and Recreation. It will engage 83 teen volunteers from Florida, Illinois and Michigan.

"Our main goal is to bring glory to God through our acts of service for individuals or communities. If we can use our particular gifts to accomplish that then it is even better," said Brent Alexander, TEAMeffort volunteer.

"Parks and Recreation is thankful for everything NeighborWorks is doing in the Beallwood community," Holli Browder said, Assistant Director of Columbus Parks and Recreation.
