Russell Co. School Board approves new teachers

RUSSELL COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - Students in Russell County will be introduced to a number of new faces beginning next school year.

The Russell County School Board called a meeting Wednesday morning to approve changes in staff. Those changes included resignations, transfers and new hires.

Demond McCoy is now the assistant principal of Oliver Elementary and Mount Olive Intermediate.

Two instructional math coaches were hired and one technology coach. A new band director will be leading the way at Russell County High School while a new media specialist joins the team.

Eight teachers were also hired to teach life science, math, business and third grade.
