COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Young lovers of football and their families got a chance to learn the fundamentals of the game Saturday at Fort Benning from former NFL players.
This was all a part of Pigskin Patriots, a non-profit project aimed at giving back to service members and their kids.
It was started by Chad Hall, Air Force Veteran and former NFL player. Young fans participated in football and cheerleading drills, as well as learning about building their character.
"We want to create a day that these kids can remember forever and then we have six core values, integrity, service, excellence, respect, leadership, & perseverance. And a third of the camp, we sit them down, and we have these NFL athletes and these NFL cheerleaders teach those six core values," Chad Hall said, Co-founder of Pigskin Patriots.
Pigskin Patriots travel around the country to different military installations teaching kids about core values.
