United Way volunteers help paint Mount Olive Elementary

United Way lends helping hand at Mount Olive Elementary

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Volunteers from the United Way are taking the day to volunteer and give back to the community on Friday.

They are at Mount Olive Elementary School in Fort Mitchell painting the building. This is the first time the United Way has been to the elementary school.

Maintenance workers had used up the budget at the school so they called the non-profit to help.

We just need to have the building lifted up and look brand new when our students come in so they can take pride in the school that they attend,” Tammy Barnes said, principal at Mt. Olive Elementary School.

This is not the first school that the United Way has helped.
