Officials arrest man wanted for failure to register as sex offender

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus man wanted for failing to register as a sex offender has been arrested, according to Muscogee County Sheriff John Darr.

Keith Campbell, 28, was also wanted for three counts of violating probation. His original charge was statutory rape, and he also committed new offenses of battery and theft by taking.

Sheriff Darr said a total of six warrants have been cleared with his arrest.

His arrest was made possible by the combined efforts of the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office and Columbus Police Department.
