AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – On Thursday, July 30 the Auburn Police Division arrested Deoggo S. Foster, 20, from Montgomery, AL on a felony warrant charging him with assault in the second-degree.

The arrest is the result of an investigation of an assault that was reported to police on July 23, 2015 that occurred near a residence in the 1900 block of Overlook Court.

Officers responded after receiving a call about two individuals, one of which was later identified as Foster, firing gun shots.  When officers arrived on the scene they located the resident, a 29-year-old male, suffering from a single gunshot wound to his leg.

He was treated on the scene by a paramedic and was transported to the EAMC Emergency room for treatment and later released.

An investigation into the incident by Auburn Police resulted in Foster and a second individual identified as 27-year-old Carl Bennett Jr., from Tallahassee, being developed as suspects.

The victim and suspects had a confrontation prior to the shooting that escalated and resulted in the victim being assaulted.  Detectives obtained arrest warrants on Foster and Bennett Jr. charging them both with assault in the second-degree.

On Thursday, Auburn Police and the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, were able to locate Foster at a residence in Montgomery and take him into custody.

U.S. Marshals located Bennett Jr. at a motel in High Point, NC and took him into custody.  He is currently being held at the Guilford County Jail in High Point, NC awaiting extradition to Auburn.

Foster was transported to the Lee County Jail and will be eligible for a $25,000 bond.
