PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - There's a big change in the case of a Phenix City bicyclist who was hit by two vehicles and killed back in April.
Russell County District Attorney Ken Davis confirmed that his office has been recused from handling the case of Sean Rey's death.
He cites the fact that he knows, and is associated with, some of the potential people involved in the case, as one of the main reasons for his recusal.
Rey was hit in the 3600 block of Summerville Road in Phenix City on April 2 by one car, then run over by another vehicle that left the scene.
Police have identified the drivers that hit Rey but have yet to file charges against either of the drivers.
