COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The historic Liberty Theater is now a Colgay Pride "we serve all" establishment.
This means residents who enter a "we serve all" business will not be discriminated against by the owner.
Colgay director Jeremy Hobbs has been working hard to get establishments to show diversity in their businesses for the LBGT community.
"We want to make sure that everybody out here knows that when you come to one of our 'We Serve All' establishments, which is a free program, there's no charge for it, and we'll even do diversity training for the employees, because the simplest little thing that you say to a person, like asking about a transgender sexual orientation? Or who does what? Or who's top? Those things can come by as offensive and that can make you lose dollars," Hobbs said.
Hobbs says there are now 18 'we serve all' establishments in Columbus – and most of those businesses have stickers on their front doors.
