COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - City leaders gathered in Columbus on Monday night to address inequality concerns within the Fountain City community.
The Columbus chapter of NAACP hosted its monthly Moral Monday forum, which focused on racism and crime prevention.
Columbus NAACP president Tonza Thomas talked about what forums like these can do for the community
"Oftentimes we tell the community what they need but people needing to be serviced, we're not talking to," Thomas said. "So, we made sure we created that service for them."
Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson and the Crime prevention Task Force were also present at the meeting.
The monthly Moral Monday forum in Columbus seeks to address concerns with the local criminal justice and education systems.
