COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Word of Truth Ministries had their 2nd Annual Back to School Bash on Thursday from noon until 4 p.m. at 929 Ft. Benning Rd.
They partnered with Village Pawn and Flavors Barbershop who gave free haircuts to the first 50 students who are under 18 years old.
"It was good to be able to give back and least get the children started off on the right track going back to school with paper, pencils, and those things that they need to at least get started in the school. Somewhere in the middle of the school year we will be able to come back again and give some more supplies out so they will be able to continue to have what they'll need to continue their education," Christopher Smith said, Pastor of WOTM.
Free school supplies, free clothes, and free lunch were given away at the collaborative effort benefiting the children of South Columbus.
