LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) – On Tuesday, Aug. 4 around 1:55 p.m. the sheriff's office received a report of a stolen vehicle at a residence on Lee Road 246 in the Bleeker community of East Lee County.
According to the report, responding deputies were able to use satellite technology to locate the vehicle at a residence on Lee Road 242 in Smiths Station.
A search warrant was obtained, and a search of the residence resulted in the discovery of numerous controlled substances including meth, oxycodone, marijuana, xanax, along with several firearms and drug related paraphernalia.
Two individuals were taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses.
Bridgette Denise Gross, 45, of Smiths Station was charged with distribution of a controlled substance, multiple counts of possession of controlled substance, illegal possession of prescription drugs, possession of marijuana in the second-degree and drug paraphernalia. Gross has a bond set at $42,000.
Nicholas Ryan Smith, 35, of Opelika was charged with failure to pay child support, drug violations and several counts of failing to appear for court on previous arrests. Smith is being held until the court takes action.
This investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
