Springford, Jr. Arrives in Montgomery

Springford, Jr. Springford, Jr.

His parents were found beaten to death on Thanksgiving Day. Ever since, Brent Springford, Jr. has been fighting extradition from Colorado. But this week, he suddenly changed his mind.

Springford was returned to Montgomery Saturday. He covered his head with a jacket as officers escorted him out of police headquarters, where he was fingerprinted, photographed, and booked on two counts of capital murder.

Springford's appearance has changed slightly. His mug shot shows the addition of a beard.

The bodies of Springford's parents, Brent and Charlotte Springford, were discovered late last year at the couple's home on Hull Street, an upscale area of Montgomery. Mr. Springford owned a Pepsi bottling plant in Luverne.

Springford, Jr. has complained of mental problems and has called WSFA 12 News to proclaim his innocence. His case is expected to go before a grand jury soon.
