National DJ Tom Joyner brings morning show to Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Famed radio personality Tom Joyner of the "Tom Joyner Morning Show" and actress, comedian, and former host of "The View"  Sherri Shepherd arrived in Columbus on Tuesday to spend some time getting up close and personal with their fans.

The pair, along with the rest of the "Tom Joyner Morning Show" gang, stopped by Visions Nightclub as part of Joyner’s "meet every listener" tour.

Tuesday night’s Happy Hour was a VIP event, only for listeners who won tickets to be there. A few months ago Joyner was in Columbus for an event at the National Infantry Museum.

Shawn Knight, radio personality at station K92.7, which broadcasts Joyner's morning show, says these visits demonstrate his commitment to listeners in the Valley.

“As a national personality in radio you have to get out and feel your audience. For him to come out here again to Columbus to meet every listener it means he has a deep relationship with Columbus,” said Knight.

Joyner and the morning crew will broadcast their show live from Columbus on Wednesday morning on K92.7.

Joyner, Shepherd and the morning show gang also made an appearance at TGI Friday's on Adams Farm Drive on Wednesday.
