Most Wanted: Shooting victim found at Waffle House

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus police need your help tracking down a dangerous criminal. The suspect is accused of shooting a man and leaving him for dead.

On June 24 a male suffering from a gunshot wound turned up at a Waffle House on Victory Drive in Columbus asking for help.

"Upon arrival police noticed a black male suffering from a gunshot wound," said Officer Paul Moody with the Columbus Police Department. "He was later transported to the medical center and received treatment and underwent surgery."

According to Officer Moody, the wound the suspect sustained was non-life threatening but surprisingly, the victim wasn't shot at the Waffle House.

"Sometimes when people get shot they go to the place to get help but the initial shooting took place on Prado Drive," Officer Moody said.

The victim walked at least five minutes from where he was assaulted to the doorstep of the 24-hour restaurant.

Now, police are asking for your help.
