PINE MOUNTAIN, GA (WTVM) – On Saturday, a crew from News Leader 9 traveled to The Rock Outreach in Pine Mountain as a part of our Give 9 Day of Service event.
The day of service was to help with the outreach services efforts to provide safe, clean, and comfortable housing for women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
Director of The Rock Outreach Ministries Don Primrose said this is just the beginning of what they'd like for their outreach services to provide.
"We also want to provide other services for children, handicapped children, such as riding horses and stuff like that, to help them with their abilities and disabilities," Primrose said.
Chuck Busch, director of marketing for South East Enterprises said there is one thing outreach services like this needs for than anything else.
"One of the things we need is, instead of contributions, is literally support," Busch said. "You know we need to house these families, we ask nothing from them. We put no time restraints on them, we make it available for the period of time for their healing."
Volunteers spent much of the day painting and sprucing up around the area. The two-day event began on Friday.
