COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Family and friends remembering a drowning victim tonight with a vigil.
Despite the rain, hundreds showed up at Rotary Park on Sunday evening, where authorities pulled the body of 30-year-old Hernandez Wilson on Aug. 13 from the Chattahoochee River.
Wilson was well-known in the community. He had a weekly radio segment on 98.3 The Beat and was also a rapper.
According to family, Hernandez suffered from mental illness. The balloon release did not take place due to the weather.
