OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) – The Opelika Police Department released information on a drug-related arrest they make earlier this month.
On Aug. 11, OPD narcotics detectives sought to arrest Emmanuel Ibrail Harris, 37, with a search warrant at his home, located at 33 Samford Ave.
Harris was not located at his home, but detectives did arrest someone there – 26-year-old Samson Logan, on two felony warrants through Lee County Sheriff's Department on theft and burglary charges.
During the search of Harris's home, police found a loaded .38-caliber revolver, marijuana, crack cocaine, powder cocaine, hydrocodone pills, molly, and other drug paraphernalia.
Warrants for Harris included: illegal drug trafficking, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana.
Harris was eventually contacted on Aug. 16 around 1:30 a.m. at the East Alabama Medical Center, where he was being treated for injuries related to an assault in Auburn.
Police arrived to the emergency room, where Harris was reportedly drunk and causing a disturbance.
Harris was additionally charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Harris is being held in the Lee County Detention Center.
