COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Columbus police are on the lookout for a different type of robber – this suspect robbed a store customer without a weapon.

This Home Hardware store on St. Mary's Road in Columbus is where a customer was approached and robbed by a man with no weapons.

We're told the victim was approached from behind and robbed in broad daylight.

"The suspect was a black male with dreadlocks and he approached the individual and stole from them," said Officer Paul Moody with the Columbus Police Department.

According to Officer Moody the victim was not injured during the robbery.

Items taken during the crime were not disclosed; however, what was disclosed is the tag number of this car police say the robber got away in.

It's a silver four door sedan with Georgia Tag number PIT7909.

Call police immediately if you recognize the car, and remember that the smallest details may be what police need to make an arrest.

"We solve so many crimes with just people calling information on the suspect or the vehicles,” Officer Moody said. “It helps us solve these crimes as well."

So take another look at the suspect in this case and help police rid the streets of him before he robs another unsuspecting victim.

You can call police at (706) 653-3400 or send your tip by email by going to isolvecrime.com. Remember, you can also receive a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
