COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A new monument was unveiled Thursday at the National Infantry Museum in Columbus.
The monument is for the 11th Cavalry Division or Black Horse Regiment, and the wars the unit participated in.
The monument includes the original memorial commemorating those who were killed in the Vietnam War.
The Black Horse Regiment served from 1966 until 1972 and has been rated by historians as one of the top combat units of the Vietnam War.
"It's family it brings us all together we are all one big family, like I say it was my people that I lost, but it's all of our people that we lost," Richard Krebs said, a Vietnam veteran.
The 11th Armored Cavalry Division is considered one of the best trained mechanized military units in the world.
