Mike Hubbard requests judge to dismiss ethics charges

LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - The Alabama State House Speaker is asking a judge to dismiss the ethics charges against him.

Mike Hubbard alleges prosecutors disclosed the names of some grand jury witnesses in a violation of secrecy laws.

Hubbard is facing 23 felony ethics charges, and he's accused of using his public office to benefit his private business.

Hubbard's challenge to Alabama's ethics law will remain out of public view. Mobile users can view the documents here

The Lee County Circuit Judge Jacob Walker ordered court filings referencing grand jury material to be under seal.
