LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) -

A 49-year-old Meriwether County man is being held in the Troup County Jail accused of rape, child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Troup County Sheriff’s officials say 49-year-old Alexis Dwayne Owens has been denied bond and is due in court on September 17 to face the charges.

The LaGrange Daily News reports that Owens is accused of raping and molesting a 15-year-old girl in Troup County earlier this year in June.

Owens was arrested by Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office on Friday. He is charged with two counts each of rape, child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
