St. Francis Hospital in Columbus has filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit filed against it by a former perspective buyer, Community Health Services.
In the motion, St, Francis claims the suit boils down to three “poorly defined and insufficiently plead allegations."
According to court documents, C-H-S says they are suing St. Francis on three counts: fraud, breach of contract and litigation costs.
C-H-S claims St. Francis intentionally hid and lied about facts regarding the hospital's problems and kept their 5 million dollar deposit after the potential deal fell through. They are seeking 5 million dollars in damages.
Another company, LifePoint Health, is in the process of buying St. Francis Hospital.
