Money was the topic of discussion for Phenix City Council members during Tuesday night's meeting.
Just hours after approving the increases to residents utilities.
The council talked about the proposed budget for fiscal year 2015-2016 rounding out at more than 36 million dollars with a majority of that money coming from taxes.
Sewage increases will go up about one dollar and 26 cents starting October first.
The trash fee will now be 18 dollars and 40 cents. And the sales tax will jump to nine percent on January first of 2016
The city is also working on several projects including a new museum, additions to the Riverwalk, as well as pool and street renovations. The Phenix City Council will vote on this budget two weeks from today!
