Demanding answers from the Department of Defense.
Georgia Senator, Johnny Isakson pays a visit to Fort Benning today, following the announcement earlier this year of massive cutbacks in the military.
Senator Isakson confirms that some soldiers in the Brigade Combat team at Fort Benning will be affected by the cuts starting this month, although he could not give an exact date.
But he and other Georgia representatives still want answers and are looking for solutions to this issue. They want to make sure the Army's decision is justified and valid when cutting troops in Georgia.
They believe the decision is based on budget instead of thinking about national security. When the cuts are complete, the force could be down 450 thousand soldiers. This is the second stop in a two day tour of military installations for Isakson.
He will tour Fort Gordon in Augusta, and Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, Friday.
