COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Domestic violence is an issue that can be hard to talk about, but according to national statistics, one in four women and one in five men will be a victim of domestic violence in their lifetime.
In Muscogee County, there were 10 family violence related homicides in 2014.
To try and lower those numbers, the Columbus Alliance for Battered Women and Hope Harbour are collaborating to hold the 7th annual Celebration of Hope luncheon.
The luncheon will be held on September 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Columbus Civic and Trade Center. Tickets are $35 per person or a table of 8 for $280.
