COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Georgia Court of Appeals held a Special Session at the Springer Opera in Columbus on Thursday.
The judges presided as three actual cases were argued - two criminal cases and one civil case.
Students from public and private high schools throughout the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit, as well as students from local colleges got a rare firsthand look at the Georgia judicial system.
"Well, from what the educators have shared with me, is that when they go back and they talk in class afterwards is that they think they are already lawyers, so they're fired up and ready to go," said Columbus Bar Association President Donna S. Hix. "So we're very excited for them."
The Court of Appeals normally holds its court sessions at its courthouse in Atlanta.
