Golf tournament held to benefit House of Heroes

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Ninety-six golfers met to play a little golf on Monday to benefit the House of Heroes organization.

Headquater Nissan hosted the tournament, which was held at the Green Island Country Club.

They hoped to raise as much as $50,000 to benefit the organization.

"We really appreciate all of the volunteers that go out and work on our houses without that spirit of giving back to the community we would not be the organization we are today,” said Susan Wood, executive director.

All of the money raised will go towards repairing homes for veterans and their spouses.
