Arrest Made in CSU Student's Death

A man remains in jail tonight, accused of killing a 19 year-old woman in East Alabama late Sunday.

Columbus State University Freshman Mariah Farrow was gunned downed at 16th Street and 10th Court just before midnight.

Phenix City Police arrested Farrow's ex-boyfriend 18-year old  Demetrius Dorsey in connection with the crime.  He was charged with murder and taken to the Russell County Jail.

Mariah's uncle, Xazavioer Farrow told Fox 54, "God didn't put us here to be violent. He put us here to come together and work with each other, love one another no matter what the circumstance is, no matter about yourself. No matter how you feel, it's always a better way to solve with peace."

Columbus State University also released a statement saying quote "It is with great sadness that we report the death of Columbus State University freshman, Mariah Farrow." It goes on to ask students to "please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers."
