Female Ranger student to recycle Swamp phase; latest class graduates Friday

Female Ranger student moves on to Swamp Phase

FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) – The Army may be on the verge of having its third female graduate of Ranger School.

Officials say the Army Reservist, and mother of two, would have graduated at Fort Benning on Friday, but they have been ordered to recycle through the Swamp Phase of training.

She's not alone since 20 male students are doing the same thing. The Army says the female soldier has been part of the Gender-Integrated Assessment Training since April.

History was made last month, when Captain Kristen Griest and 1st Lieutenant Shaye Haver became the first female soldiers to earn the Ranger tab.
