COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Brewer Elementary School is missing one of their own.

Taron Brewer, 9, was struck by a vehicle earlier this week while waiting for his school bus.

We visited his school on Friday, and his teacher Christie Bechdolt and classmates are sending him their love.

They also hope he will be back with them soon.

Bechdolt says something like this every parent's worst nightmare.

“As a mom I don't know what I would do... that's your baby,” Bechdolt said. “As mamas we do anything to take the hurt away from our baby. I know she's got to physically hurt for her baby.”

According to the family attorney, Taron is still in a medically-induced coma.

We will continue following this story and bring you more information on Taron’s status as it becomes available.
