COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A Columbus man was arrested and charged with cruelty to children on Sunday, accused of shoving his son child into a wall at their home.
According to Columbus Police Department incident and arrest reports, Tremayne Cain, 29, allegedly wanted to "whoop" his child, 8, for saying he wanted to move back to Ohio.
Cain allegedly grabbed the child by the throat and "pushed him to the dining room wall," leaving a hole in the wall of their home, located off Parkchester Drive.
Police said that the child's mother said that Cain told her he "'almost put [child's name] through the wall' for being disrespectful to him," the arrest report said.
The child also complained of his head hurting at the time of the accident, but not when police were there, and he had no other injuries.
Cain was arrested and charged with one count of cruelty to children. He appeared in recorder's court on Monday.
