COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A new app has been launched by the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office and is free for the public to use.

The app, available for iPhone and Android devices, will allow citizens to search for registered sex offenders, inmates of the Muscogee County Jail and see the sheriff’s “most wanted” list. Users can also get push notifications on various issues including safety concerns, traffic and wanted individuals.

“The purpose of this app is to keep the residents of Muscogee County and our neighboring communities informed and safe,” Muscogee County Sheriff John Darr said in a press release.

The app has been in development for eight weeks and MCSO Public Information Officer Major Randy Robertson said no taxpayer money was spent to develop this “extremely important tool.”
