Greenville City Hall confirms water main break near Hwy. 100

GREENVILLE, GA (WTVM) – Greenville Mayor James Bray confirmed that the water main break that caused the entire city to be without water for nearly 24 hours has been resolved.

A 6-inch water main break caused a burst of the main line on Thursday afternoon between 3:30 and 4 p.m. on Highway 100 near New Springfield Baptist Church.

Crews repaired the damaged water line, and restored the water Friday afternoon.

Water in the area near the burst pipe was turned off on Thursday; the rest of the water was turned off Friday morning until the break was reached.
