MELBOURNE, FL (WTVM/CNN) – A Florida woman was arrested Saturday accused of riding on the back of a sea turtle.

Stephanie Marie Moore had been wanted since July on a felony warrant for offenses related to marine turtles. The charges came after snapchat photos appearing to show her on the animal went viral.

Police say Moore and another woman took the photos on Melbourne Beach. Moore was being held on a $2,000 bond.

Conservationists say it is a part of a 20-mile stretch of beach that is home to important sea turtle nesting habitat. An estimated 90 percent of the sea turtles in the U.S. call the area home.
