COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – The Urban League of Columbus and the Georgia Department of Labor hosted a job fair Wednesday and there were around 2,600 people in attendance.
There were people of all ages at the job fair and the GDOL says there were a good amount of people interested in broadcasting and media. However, there were a wide variety of jobs represented at the event.
Georgia's Juvenile Justice Commissioner Avery D. Niles sent dedicated teams of recruiters to seek qualified candidates for Juvenile Corrections Officer (JCO) positions. Serious applicants need to know that full-time juvenile corrections careers require "Can-Do!" attitudes and professional performance.
Urban League President and CEO Susan Cooper says that all applicants had to be professionally dressed with resumes in hand and be ready for job interviews.
Educational institutions were also in attendance.
