Trial moves forward for woman accused of fatally stabbing boyfriend

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The murder trial for Priscilla Harris started in a Columbus Courtroom Wednesday afternoon.

After striking a jury, both sides presented their cases during opening statements. The state said Harris killed her boyfriend, Anthony Murray, because she was mad after he hit her in the mouth.

The defense said she stabbed the victim in self-defense after an argument. The incident happened when an argument ensued between the two in May of 2014.

Harris is charged with felony and malice murder, aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.

The courtroom finished the day questioning witnesses and will be back in the courtroom early Thursday morning.
