Voters in Muscogee County will be able to cast their ballots on Sundays in all future elections.
Thursday night, the Board of Elections and Registration held the final of three forums to hear from the public about the idea. Many believe Sunday voting will maximize voter turnout.
"The board has heard from the community and has decided to do the Sunday voting. It will be on the Sundays during early voting in addition to the two Saturdays and it will be for every general primary as well as every general election, “says Elections Director, Nancy Boren.
The Board of Elections conducted a six month study and found that many people believe Sunday voting will be beneficial for the community.
