AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – Auburn police arrested 20-year-old Joshua Wilson on felony warrants for burglary in the third-degree and theft of property in the second-degree.
The arrest was the result of an investigation by Auburn Police into a report of a burglary at a residence located in the 1100 block of Old Mill Road, that was filed on Dec. 29, 2014. The victim reported someone had unlawfully entered his residence while he was away and stole electronic devices that valued over $1,500.
An investigation into the incident was initiated by the Auburn police and as a result, Joshua Wilson developed as a suspect. Detectives recovered evidence at the scene during the investigation that was submitted to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for DNA testing.
On Sept. 29, 2015, police received the results of that testing, which connected Wilson to the burglary. Detectives obtained arrest warrants on Wilson charging him with burglary in the third-degree and theft of property in the second-degree. He was then located and taken into custody on the outstanding warrants.
Wilson was taken to the Lee County Detention Facility where he is being held on a $6,000 bond.
