COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – A Columbus pastor is helping the family of Taron Brewer, the 9-year-old who was hit during an accident on Forest Rd. late last month, raise funds to their lodging and his care as they've moved him for better treatment.
Rev. Samuel Lewis says Taron, 9, has been moved to Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta, and his family is currently living in a motel.
Lewis says he moved the family on Friday, and the costs are high and the family is running out of funds.
The family is asking for donations to help pay for Taron's care and their lodging. An account has been set up at CB&T, and those wishing to donate can go and ask for the 'Special Funds for Taron Brewer' account.
Taron was struck by a Terminx work vehicle on Sept. 14 while walking to his school bus stop. The driver was not charged and it was determined that speed was not a factor.
